Can I eat lunch in the cafeteria with my student?
You are welcome to join your student for lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The administration allows for birthday lunches on Mondays and Fridays, but only if your student's birthday actually falls on one of those days. Just sign in at the office and meet your student in the cafeteria. Special tables are available for "private dining" for you and your student in the cafeteria, or you may eat in the Learning Garden (please do not invite other friends to eat with you).
Can I pay for my student's lunch online?
Families can pre-pay for a student's lunch or pay a student's outstanding lunch balance through MNPS's secure payment portal MySchoolBucks.
Can I celebrate my student's birthday at school?
Yes, but birthday celebrations cannot interrupt instructional time. You may send in a snack or treat to be eaten at lunchtime in the cafeteria. Please communicate with your classroom teacher in advance to be aware of any allergies or duplicate celebrations. Birthday party invitations may not be distributed at school unless invitations are brought for every child in the class.
When do I need to keep my child home from school?
You should not send your child to school if he/she has any of the following:
Fever - temperature above 100*F (taken by mouth) without the use of fever reducing medication.
Diarrhea - any watery stools
Vomiting - throwing up
Rash - covering entire body
When your child has any of these symptoms, he/she must be kept at home the next day from school. The child should be without symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school.
